Welcome Dear Friends!
I have decided to start this blog as a personal diary of what the Lord is revealing to me on this crazy walk of life. I hope and pray that as you read, you will be encouraged, inspired, and receptive to the Holy Spirit.
Why the name Lenses of Righteousness?
This name is fully inspired by Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
If you know me, then you know that I'm kinda blind. I have to wear contacts or glasses daily, and sometimes, those aren't even enough to see clearly. I have the freedom and ability to choose not to wear my contacts, but I would be a danger to myself and others (and have the biggest headache in the world). I couldn't walk five feet without stumbling or running into something. The world around me would fade into a blur, causing me to miss out of the beauty of life.
That's exactly what can happen when we choose to not put Christ first in our everyday walk. We can lose sight of our purpose and plan, which can very easily drown our peace and joy. There is nothing more consuming than not being able to see. Matthew 6: 22-23 says, "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness." How cool is it that Jesus tells us how important our eyes are, and ten verses later tells us exactly what to seek - the kingdom of God and his righteousness!!!
Seeking Christ first is like putting on glasses. The blurry world finds its clarity. The path that is dark, winding, unclear, bumpy, and dangerous becomes light, straight, and clear. The verse doesn't say, "seek the Lord when things go wrong", or "seek the Lord when you're at your best", but its says "seek FIRST the kingdom of God". And that is my challenge to you and my heart behind this blog - to seek the Lord before anything. Seek the Lord before you get out of bed. Seek the Lord before you step out of your house in the morning. Seek the Lord, his kingdom, and righteousness, FIRST, and rejoice in the clarity that life with the Lord brings. Put on the lenses of righteousness.
